PRIVACY POLICY

General Data Protection Regulation and Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD)

The General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR, is a European privacy law approved by the European Commission in 2016 and which came into effect on May 25, 2018. The GDPR replaces a previous European Union (EU) privacy directive, known as Directive 95/46/EC, which has been the foundation of European data protection law since 1995. The GDPR aims to strengthen and modernize EU data protection legislation and reinforce individual rights and freedoms, in line with the European understanding of privacy as a fundamental human right. The GDPR regulates, among other things, how individuals and organizations may obtain, use, store, and remove personal data. In summary, it gives EU citizens and residents control over their personal data, while also simplifying the regulatory environment for international businesses operating in the EU.

In Brazil, Law No. 13.709/2018 – the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) – aims to preserve individual rights, thereby protecting privacy and personal data.

All personal information collected on our website will be used to help make your visit as productive and enjoyable as possible. Ensuring the confidentiality of the personal data of our website users is important to Biosat. All personal information relating to customers or visitors using Biosat’s website will be handled in accordance with Law No. 13.709/2018 – the General Data Protection Law (LGPD).

The personal information collected may include your name, email address, phone number, address, company name, date of birth, and/or other details. Use of Biosat’s website implies acceptance of this Privacy Agreement. Biosat’s team reserves the right to change this agreement without prior notice. We therefore recommend that you regularly review our privacy policy to remain up to date.

Data Protection Principles include requirements such as:

Personal data collected must be processed fairly, lawfully, and transparently, and only used in ways a person would reasonably expect.

Personal data should only be collected for a specific purpose and only used for that purpose. Organizations must specify why they need personal data when they collect it.

Personal data must not be retained longer than necessary to fulfill its purpose.

Individuals under the GDPR (EU) and LGPD (Brazil) have the right to access their personal data. They may also request a copy of their data and have it updated, deleted, restricted, or transferred to another organization.
